Steve Green is Jerry Scheff on Bass Guitar

Steve started to play bass guitar at the age of seventeen. He learnt his craft mainly as a self-taught musician, but also studied with renowned bassist Fred Thelonious Baker, as well as attending various jazz seminars and schools. He is also the son of internationally acclaimed jazz double bassist Dave Green and he is very grateful of the fact that he had the pleasure of growing up with music and with musicians all around him, attending his father's gigs at the tender age of four!

He has performed and recorded with various jazz, funk and rock outfits at numerous venues throughout the UK and has also appeared at several festivals. Steve has gained a wealth of experience through playing with luminaries such as Latin fusion band Paz, timbale maestro Roberto Pla, tenor saxophonist Don Rendall, members of the BBC Big Band, Geoff Castle and the NYJO rhythm section.

He would like to note that being part of the An American Trilogy show is always an enjoyable experience and feels that the production is a tremendous testament to the King's legacy!
